even if you did folks will still choose not to wear a lid. thats the sad part. she faceplanted at around 50mph, and hit and slid on what would have been her face. I personally love gear and refuse to ride without.
I think a picture is worth a thousand words and we all should just post them here is we see an accident and knock on wood if we go down. If only a few guys that need to get it - do from seeing the pics then it is worth it.
Was in a bad accident 15 years ago, at the hospital the Doctor showed me my helmet I was wearning....with a 2" rock embedded in the helmet need I say more.
I couldn't agree more! Heck, even on my mountain bike, I have had a helmet save my life when I hit something in the road while going downhill and my head hit the edge of the curb. I hurt like hell, but the helmet took the impact and I walked away. Thank God I was wearing it. It compressed my bicycle helmet a full inch from the impact!
We in South Africa have to wear helmets by law, but that is one law that we all respect. Our Club members and alot of SA riders say "We'd Rather Sweat than Bleed". There have been days when the sweat is pouring off me in my safety gear, but rather that than having an accident and possibly leaving my kids with no parent/s.
